Penrose-St. Francis Health Services is a full-service, 522-bed acute care provider in Colorado Springs comprised of Penrose Hospital and St. Francis Medical Center. Penrose Hospital serves as the anchor hospital of Penrose-St. Francis Health Services with 364-licensed beds and the ability to provide tertiary (high tech) medical-surgical services with an emphasis on elective and outpatient care. Leads, manages, and oversees clinical process-improvement opportunities across the operating group. Partners with operating group leaders to identify, prioritize and address strategic initiatives across multiple entities that align with value optimization areas of: outcome effectiveness, service, convenience and cost. Leads innovation, process-improvement excellence, and change through the application of Lean/Six Sigma methodology, change management tools, and rapid decision-making processes. Provides expertise and serves as resource to teams. Mentors, coaches, and teaches leaders and associates in the use of statistical tools, Lean/Six Sigma, and change management techniques to ensure timely completion of projects and expected results.


  • Bachelor’s degree in clinical field (BSN, MT, RRT, RHIT, etc.)

  • Lean/Six Sigma certification required


  • 3 years acute care clinical experience, preferably in a leadership role.

  • Ability to describe successful facilitation of PI projects applying A3 thinking with project management and change management techniques.

Lean background (as opposed to six sigma), Hospital process improvement experience, Experience teaching Lean, strongly preferred.


  • Lean/Six Sigma certification required

  • State Licensure in applicable clinical specialty


Sedentary Work - prolonged periods of sitting and exert/lift up to 10 lbs. force occasionally.
