Raytheon Sr Principal Systems Engr in Colorado Springs, Colorado
Seeking a Principal Systems Engineer to provide technical leadership on the SENSOR program. This individual will provide support to the Requirements Definition Analysis and Modeling team to investigate complex sensor issues to determine root cause, identify solutions and mitigate risks. This individual will be a key participant in developing and documenting system level requirements that arise from Change Requests, conduct Technical Interchange Meetings (TIMs), model and prototype solutions. The ideal candidate should have in depth experience with analysis of phased array radar system performance, radar system architectures, and radar system modeling, development, and design for Ballistic Missile Early Warning Systems (BMEWS) and PAVE Phased Array Warning Systems (PAWS) Radars. Knowledge of phased array radar system architectures and the Air Force Space Surveillance, Missile Warning, or Missile Defense mission areas is required. Responsibilities include: Proven and demonstrable experience developing and documenting system level requirements. Proven and demonstrable experience conducting Technical Interchange Meetings (TIMs). Experience Modeling and prototyping radar systems. Capable of traveling to site for prototype activity as approved by the IPT. Experience Preparing and briefing technical presentations at informal and formal meetings Experience in the preparation of technical papers, systems engineering processes throughout all phases of the development lifecycle and proposal lifecycle development Accomplished presentation skills and the ability to present technical concepts well in front of customer Strong leadership and communication skills Provide technical peer review of key deliverables and milestones Write technical white papers, memorandums and reports Support critical operations during standard and non-standard working hours Other duties as assigned Qualifications: Experience with BMEWS, PAVE/PAWS Radar Experience with Early Warning Radar systems (EWR) Experience with BPP/EWR development and sustainment environments Bachelor’s Degree in Science, Math, Engineering and 8+ years of relevant professional experience. MS Degree preferred 10 years of Systems Engineering experience and knowledge of Systems Engineering processes 10 years of DoD Life-Cycle engineering delivery experience 10 years of Engineering Leadership experience Travel will be required to worldwide sites This position requires an active Secret Clearance Preferred Additional Skills: Ability to work in team environment Familiarity/experience with DoD system development and delivery life-cycle Model Based Systems Engineering and familiarity with DOORS Working knowledge of Matlab Candidates will be considered at the G10 and G11 grades 109634
