Lockheed Martin Systems Engineer Staff in Colorado Springs, Colorado
The candidate will be assigned to the SBIRS Survivable/Endurable Evolution (S2E2) team located at Peterson AFB. The S2E2 team is responsible for supporting the SBIRS survivability and endurability requirements. This support includes terminal operations and maintenance of EHF, UHF and VHF terminals participating in strategic operations as part of the SBIRS mobile mission.
The candidate will perform level 1 and level 2 maintenance support, act as a terminal Subject Matter Expert (SME) offering engineering solutions as part of normal development, test, operations and/or restoral actions. The candidate will aid 233rd Space Group in terminal maintenance and restoral of operations minimizing terminal outage times.
As part of level 2 maintenance support, the candidate is expected to have experience in Air Force Command Post Terminal (AFCPT), ARC-210 (or associated airborne UHF/VHF radios) and Land Mobile Radio (LMR) operations/maintenance, Line Replaceable Unit (LRU) functionality, signal flow and general maintenance concepts to include utilization of various types of test equipment.
The candidate must work closely with team members in a dynamic and flexible environment, shifting between assignments to support changing customer requirements.
Basic Qualifications • Willingness and ability to conduct frequent CONUS travel • Active DoD Secret Clearance • Test equipment experience – i.e. Spectrum Analyzer, Oscilloscope, Comm. Analyzer, Optical Time Domain Reflectometer (OTDR), Fiberscope, Breakout Box, multi-meters or similar • Ability to work in an environment with evolving requirements • Ability to work effectively in a team environment • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Desired skills • Active DoD TS/SCI • Familiarity of AFCPT terminal operations, Line Replaceable Unit (LRU) functionality, signal flow and terminal maintenance concepts • Familiarity of ARC-210 terminal operations, Line Replaceable Unit (LRU) functionality, signal flow and terminal maintenance concepts • Knowledge of EHF and UHF communications planning • Knowledge of the Milstar/AEHF strategic missions – i.e. ITW/AA Missile Warning, Missile Defense, DSP/SBIRS, mobile assets • DoD Top Secret Clearance • Operational experience with Time Distribution Subsystem Preprocessor • Operations experience with Mission Planning Sub-System • Terminal Image generation and implementation • 10 years SATCOM terminal maintenance experience • 2 year experience with LMR
